We’re hosting a Christmas Market pop-up at Dulwich Picture Gallery!

After the raging success of our pop-up market at the one and only Dulwich Picture Gallery this past summer, it seemed only right that we’d pop back up there for Christmas! We’ll be hosting a one-day pop up Christmas Market at this incredible historic location for one day only, on Saturday 18th November.

I first discovered the gallery in 2019 when I visited Yinka Ilori’s iconic “The Colour Palace” which appeared in the gallery’s space, which firmly put it on my radar as a lovely place to visit in South London. I’ve been back a number of times since, most recently to visit the Berthe Morisot exhibition which was hands down one of the most beautiful displays of art I’ve seen for a long time.

Did you know that Dulwich Picture Gallery is the world’s first purpose-built public art gallery? It was founded in 1811 when Sir Francis Bourgeois RA bequeathed his collection of old masters “for the inspection of the public”. Over 200 years later, the Gallery is a vibrant cultural hub hosting some of the UK’s leading exhibitions alongside its permanent collection of Baroque masterpieces while staging a wide-ranging programme of events, art and community activities, making it the perfect place to host a makers market! Painted in gorgeous colours from fellow South London brand Myland’s paints, the gallery itself is also incredibly beautiful, and just a charming place to spend an afternoon.

As you can imagine then, we are so excited to bring Salad Days Market back to Dulwich Picture Gallery for one day, and one day only on Saturday 18th November. As ever, we’ll be bringing an unrivalled edit of small brands with us spanning a huge array of products; your one-stop Christmas shopping destination. The focus will fall on original art and jewellery, as we felt they suited the space perfectly, but will also encompass everything from wiggly handmade ceramics, and carefully handprinted lampshades, to stunning tableware and all the finishing touches like greetings cards, wreaths and more. To tie in with the nature of the art gallery itself, we really wanted to make sure our curation for this event showcases the most incredible craftsmanship, and we hope you’ll agree our curation will do just that.
