We’re popping up at the historic Dulwich Picture Gallery in South London

One thing we love about not having one set location for our market is that it means we can pop up here, there and everywhere. It’s honestly thrilling for us to be able to bring Salad Days Market to so many different venues in our hometown of South London, especially locations that are places we really love and admire, like Dulwich Picture Gallery.

I first discovered the gallery in 2019 when I visited Yinka Ilori’s iconic “The Colour Palace” which appeared in the gallery’s space, which firmly put it on my radar as a lovely place to visit in South London. I’ve been back a number of times since, most recently to visit the Berthe Morisot exhibition which was hands down one of the most beautiful displays of art I’ve seen for a long time.

Dulwich Picture Gallery is the world’s first purpose-built public art gallery: it was founded in 1811 when Sir Francis Bourgeois RA bequeathed his collection of old masters “for the inspection of the public”. Over 200 years later, the Gallery is a vibrant cultural hub hosting some of the UK’s leading exhibitions alongside its permanent collection of Baroque masterpieces while staging a wide-ranging programme of events, art and community activities. Painted in gorgeous colours from fellow South London brand Myland’s paints, the gallery itself is also incredibly beautiful, and just a charming place to spend an afternoon.

As you can imagine then, we are so excited to bring Salad Days Market to Dulwich Picture Gallery for one day, and one day only on Saturday 13th August! As ever, we’ll be bringing an unrivalled edit of small brands with us, spanning a huge array of products. The focus will fall on original art and jewellery, as we felt they suited the space perfectly, but will also encompass everything from intricate handmade wooden homeware, wiggly handmade ceramics, and carefully handprinted lampshades. To tie in with the nature of the art gallery itself, we really wanted to make sure our curation for this event showcases the most incredible craftsmanship, and we hope you’ll agree our curation will do just that. Download your free tickets via Eventbrite now.
