The Shard pop-up market: The full brand list

A few months ago we got the kind of email that leaves you buzzing for days! After it landed in our inbox we basically screamed and danced around for a few hours, it was so exciting! The one and only Shard was inviting us to host a pop-up market for International Women’s Day!

Since it was built That Shard has become an iconic part of our city’s incredibly skyline, and whether you love it or hate it, you can’t deny that it’s bloody iconic.

Towering high over the city, so high that she often gets lost amongst the clouds, to us The Shard represents the kind of blue-skies thinking that makes London such an exciting place to be. Liv can see the very top of Shardy (as we like to call her) from her balcony at home, and we’ve spent many wistful evenings looking out at her in the night’s sky, dreaming about our futures and wondering where London will take us next. So to be popping up there with our very own market? Wow! Magical!

The event was closed and only available to staff members and visitors of The Shard, but we don’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to browse and shop with the 14 incredible small businesses that took part. Here they are:

All the small brands that popped-up with us at The Shard:

MW Makes: Michelle handmakes her premium leather accessories right here in London using the finest naturally-dyed leathers. At the pop-up she also offered complimentary leather stamping so customers could have pieces personalised!

The Stationer: Tessa carefully road tests and cherry-picks the creme de la creme of stationery, so you know her curation is absolutely tip top. From the smoothest Kaweco ball point pens, to the cutest colourful post-it notes. Stationery addicts put your hands up!

Studio Kyodai: Each candy-coloured leather bag is handmade by Scarlett in South London. I am obsessed with their squidgy shape and all the clever features she’s included; like their adjustable strap and little pocket that’s perfectly sized for your card-holder. And that wiggly buckle! Perfection!

Chin Chin Prints: Emily’s prints, cards and more celebrate everything going on South of the River; where she proudly lives, works and designs each product. We are absolutely obsessed with her new South London-themed stickers (they’re weather proof so work on suitcases too!)

Plopp Pottery: We’re so proud that iconic ceramicist Scarlett travelled all the way down from Bristol to trade with us! Her handmade marbled ceramics have tonnes of wow-factor, especially her butter dish of dreams.

Ella Stern Jewellery: Ella’s organic jewels are the unofficial sponsor of Salad Days pop-ups; we see so many customers wearing her Marine Drop earrings and necklaces especially. Each piece is handmade in London.

Palm Of Feronia: Soph is a master formulator and maker; she handmakes each of her natural potions and lotions in South London. Plus their gorge aesthetic packaging makes them perfect for gifting and displaying proudly around your home.

Latticia Organics: Latticia cleverly formulates and makes each of her products in London to her MOVE philosophy meaning each of her products is Multi-use, Organic, Vegan and Ethical. Her glow balm is my personal fave.

Teapsy: Say no to boring tea! Teapsy has the cutest range of tea blends in the most adorable packaging. Choose from Lava Lamp (Lavender and Blueberry) and Pink Rodeo (Raspberry, Rhubarb and Caramel) and loads more divine and unique flavours.

Bunhead Bakes: Sara’s sell-out sourdough buns are all handmade by her in South London inspired by her favourite Palestinian flavours. She offers both sweet and savoury and they’re all equally delish!

Black Crowned Gin: Temi’s African-inspired gin is hands down the best gin I’ve ever tasted. It’s fragrant and botanical and unique without tasting synthetic or OTT. It’s absolutely delicious and perfect for summer cocktails! Plus how gorgeous is the bottle? Such a lush gift!

Citizens of Soil: This Great Taste award-winning extra virgin oil was an absolute sell-out and we know exactly why; it tastes increeeeeedible. Packaged up like premium wine it also really looks the part too.

These Days Drinks: I love a fresh zingy drink and for me These Days hits the spot: made with natural fruit flavours and organic wine from the South of France, their fruity tangy spritzes are ready-to-serve and so yummy.

Anaya Basque Cheesecake: Rianna is known far and wide across London because of her iconic Basque cheesecake. It’s always a sell-out! If you haven’t tried this yet just trust me - find her at her next market and buy at least two slices!
