Six sustainable handmade London-based fashion brands you need to know now

If you’re looking for a cheeky lil wardrobe update but you want to get your fix in a more sustainable way, shopping with a small independent fashion brand is defo the way to go. We’ve worked with so many over the past couple of years, these six are just a few of our favourites (and they’re all based in our very own capital city!)

Because they all operate on a made-to-order basis they produce little to no waste, plus they use either preloved or sustainably sourced organic fabric. And, because everything is bespoke, are super size-inclusive too!

BACK BY SUNDOWN

Jeanie’s handmade creations are just sensational, especially her dresses! They’re all created with keen attention to detail, in voluminous modest shapes. Soooo bloody dreamy.

After Gabby’s beloved Grandpa passed away, she was inspired to wear his clothes, altering his fave shirts to suit her own style. Her passion quickly developed into a flourishing small biz of gorge preloved shirts.

We couldn’t write this list without Laura! She’s such a talented and influential maker, with a total knack for upcycling pre-existing clothing into highly covetable “new” pieces.

Touted by WGSN and Vogue as “one to watch”, Lydia is fast changing our perception of old < new with her sell-out collections of reworked pieces.
