Salad Days x Liv Purvis Christmas Market: Everything you need to know

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that this December we’ll be teaming up with the one and only Liv Purvis to bring you a dazzling Christmas Market for one weekend only.

We first met Liv back at the beginning of 2020, when we were two complete novices who had no idea what we were doing. Over the past three years we’ve continued to stay in touch; her positivity and joy for what she does is so uplifting, and it goes without saying that her vintage outfits and home are always a source of inspiration. Plus most importantly, Liv has a genuine passion for supporting small independent businesses, and to top it off, she’s a South London girlie too! So when she got in touch earlier this year with an idea to run an event together, it just really felt like a concept that made total sense! We hosted our first market together in April and after it was such a smash hit with literally thousands of you coming to shop we knew we needed to team up together again for Christmas!

The Salad Days x Liv Purvis Christmas Market will run over both Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December, at the spectacular Beckenham Place Mansion in Beckenham Place Park. Located slap bang in the middle of where the three of us live, it felt like the perfect location, and the drama of the venue seemed like a fitting backdrop. If you’ve never been before I guarantee your jaw will drop when you get there, it’s a striking Georgian mansion set in acres of lush greenery. Every time I’m there I feel like Kiera Knightly in Pride and Prejudice, it’s truly breathtaking.

Like all of our previous market together, the event will feature a highly curated edit of the most incredible small businesses from around the UK who will be selling a variety of products including lots of special gift ideas, jewellery, homeware, art, and all the Christmassy finishing touches you’ll need including greetings cards and gift wrap. We’ll have 30 different brands each day, so 60 in total over the weekend, bringing you the most spectacular edit of handmade products to shop all in one place. You can expect to find a really wide range of products spanning all price points, including everything from greetings cards for a couple of pounds, to handmade dresses, jewellery, art, ceramics and more. The line-up for this market includes a large number of brands we’ve never worked with before so even if you’ve been to a few of our events you’ll still find something new and exciting to discover.

Very excitingly, Liv herself has also been hard at work sourcing vintage treasures for her very own stall. She’ll be trading both days with a highly curated edit of really special vintage fashion; the kind of pieces you’ll fall in love with and never want to take off.

To make it a full day affair, the market will have a variety of freshly baked treats for you! Plus, the venue itself will have food and drinks covered too. Beckenham Place Mansion has an on-site cafe, The Mansion Café and Bar, which serves yummy treats and a variety of hot and cold drinks all day. In the wider grounds there is also The Homestead Café which serves pizza, pastries, hot and cold drinks, craft beer and ice cream as takeaway. And on a Sunday, Beckenham Place Park Food Market also runs in the grounds with tens of delicious street food vendors.

Me, Liv and Liv will all be there for the whole weekend, to meet, greet and chat to you all. We really can’t wait to see you there this December.

How to apply:

Unfortunately we are now fully booked for this event so we are not taking any further applications. Our applications are now closed. If you would like to trade with us we will be opening applications for 2024 in the coming months. Thank you!

How to attend:

We’d absolutely love for you to come down to our event. Gather up your favourite friends and family, and meet us there. It’s free to enter and you don’t need a ticket. The nearest station is Beckenham Junction which is accessed directly from London Victoria. It is also accessible via tram which goes through Wimbledon and East Croydon. There is paid-for parking on site at Beckenham Place Park although we expect this to be busy so we’d suggest coming via public transport.

We’ve introduced all the brands taking part over on our Instagram! You can also find a full list of Saturday’s 30 traders here, and Sunday’s 30 traders here. There’s a totally different line-up on each day, so you could even come twice.

FAQs:

Please note we are expecting this event to be very busy. To keep things comfortable and safe for everyone, this may mean you have to queue to get in. We will also have a designated room where we’d ask that you leave your buggy.

This is event and the grounds are dog-friendly but please keep pups on a short lead at all times and be mindful of the brand’s delicate products, and of other customers.

The venue has multiple food and beverage providers selling everything from pizza to pastries, sandwiches, coffees, soft drinks and more.

All food and drinks on site may include allergens. If you have any allergies please check directly with each vendor before you eat and drink anything.

There is some paid-for parking on site but it’s likely to be busy so we’d suggest getting public transport or walking.
