We’re hosting a huuuge small business Sample Sale at Gipsy Hill Brewery!

After all the expense of Christmas, and a cost of living crisis to content with, we know that now more than ever you might be on the look-out for a bargain. But even though you’re tightening the purse strings a little, you’ll still want a fun day out and the opportunity to buy yourself a little treat or two. So to kickstart the year (and after the raging success of our one last year!) we’ve decided to host a small business Sample Sale and we’re absolutely thrilled about it.

Over this four day bonanza event, you'll find amazing discounts, bargains, and one-of-a-kind samples available from 120 small businesses across two entire weekends. We're taking over Gipsy Hill Brewery's iconic South London taproom on two weekends in a row: both Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd March, and Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th March for four days of shopping, drinking, eating, hot street food and of course... an incredible market full of amazing and special finds at amazing prices.

On each day you’ll find a different line-up of 30 small businesses (so you can come to every single day if you fancy and find different things at them all) and brands will be selling things with up to 50% off. As always, expect to find an array of incredible handmade products with up to 50% off including fashion, ceramics, art, jewellery, homeware and more. This will span from almost-perfect seconds, samples of products that didn’t end up going into production and so are completely unique, plus past season stock. It might also include new stock with a cheeky discount or two! Perfect for a good rummage, and finding a beautiful bargain.

As well as an indoor market with over 30 different small brands from around the UK each day, you'll be able to order pints and find a table to sit down with friends and family to enjoy the day. Both the market and the taproom itself are inside to keep you toasty, and we'll also have multiple tables set up outside under cover so once you're done shopping, you can spend the afternoon eating and drinking with loved ones. The venue and market are both dog friendly although as we’re expecting it to be busy pups may prefer to hang outside.

We are now fully booked for this event! We will release more market dates for the rest of 2024 soon, but sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear!

How to attend:

The Sample Sale is free to enter, and you don’t need a ticket! Just show up on the day! We expect queues so you might like to come early if you’re looking for something specific.

The nearest station is Gipsy Hill. You can also get there via bus from Brixton or Crystal Palace.

We’re expecting this event to be busy. This means we might have to hold you in a queue. While we’ll do everything we can to manage how busy the event is, it may mean you would prefer not to bring your buggy or dog.

There is indoor and outdoor seating at the venue, and you’ll be able to get hold and cold drinks from the Brewery.

There will be different brands on every single day, so you can come along to each one and find totally different things.

We’ve asked sellers to ensure most of their stock is discounted but not every single thing will be in the sale. This is at the seller’s discretion and is completely outside of Salad Days’ control. Discounts will vary from 10% - 70% off depending on the seller. This is at their discretion and is outside of Salad Days’ control.

There will be food and drinks available at the market; these will either include allergens or be prepared in an environment alongside allergens, so if you have a specific allergy please speak to the food or drink provider before you consume anything. Similarly if you have a specific allergy please speak to the stallholder before you try or buy any product.
