A curated edit of small brands

First and foremost at our markets you’ll discover an incredible curation of small independent brands. We set up the market to help more people shop small more often, and that’s still very much our aim. So when you walk into one of our events we guarantee you’ll be wowed by the talent on display. We always share a full list of brands trading with us at each of our events on our blog.

Monthly events

We host at least one full weekend of markets each month. Find all our upcoming market dates on our Events page.

A focus on craftsmanship, handmade items, vintage and UK production

Our markets span a really broad range of products covering everything from unique ceramics to sustainable fashion, vintage fashion, original artwork, handmade jewellery, vintage homeware, beauty, skincare, haircare, handbags, accessories and so much more. The common denominator is that the absolute vast majority of products are either handmade, made in the UK, or vintage, making them naturally more unique, more sustainable and more ethical. We especially love working with brands that showcase traditional craftsmanship in new and original ways.

A bit of hustle and bustle

Our community are so keen to come and shop with us again and again, so our events are often busy. This is something we’re really proud of, as it means our events are successful for the small brands taking part. We think the hustle and bustle is all part of a London market and are what give our events that buzzy feeling you’ve told us you love. Our busiest times are usually between opening and lunchtime, so if you prefer a quieter browse we’d suggest coming at the end of the day. We’ve expanded our events to give us as much space as possible, but we’d still recommend coming light; please leave large backpacks and suitcases at home. You may also prefer to leave buggiest at home. If you’re a wheelchair user and need more info about accessibility please do get in touch with us via email so we can help you enjoy the event as comfortably as possible!

Products that can be personalised and customised

We work hard to book “live activations” for each one of our markets. This means “live” activities like offering customisation and personalisation! Plus things like live portraits, permanent bracelets, vending machines, and products that can be stamped or engraved while you wait. You can find full details of everything you’ll find at each one of our markets over on our blog.

Quality over quantity

Our events are by no means the biggest; we usually have around 30 brands trading with us each day. We prioritise quality over quantity and put a real focus on curation: offering you up the best of the best of the best. You’ll find a full list of traders at each market over on the blog on our website.

Different brands at every event

We want to introduce you to as many new brands as possible! Which is why we always have a completely new line-up of brands at every single market. So even if you’ve visited us before, you can still come back time and time again and find new and exciting things. If we are operating at one venue for multiple days, the line-up for each day will also be completely new and different. You’ll find a full list of brands trading with us for each market day on our blog.

Iconic South London venues

As South London girlies we always operate our markets in South London! So expect to see our events at a variety of iconic venues South of the river including places like Battersea Power Station, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Gipsy Hill Brewery and The Shard. The only time we operate more centrally is for our pop-ups at Selfridges on Oxford Street.

Positive vibes and friendly people

The most common praise we hear from our customers and our stallholders alike is that a Salad Days Market is such a friendly and welcoming place to spend time. We pride ourselves on having the loveliest community ever and we always want you to feel happy and welcome in our space. I think this is the reason so many people feel comfortable to come and shop at our markets on their own, something we absolutely love.

Cute dogs

All of our events are dog friendly so if you come to one of our events expect to see lots of cute pups in attendance too! We always ask dog owners to keep their dogs on a short lead and to be mindful of other guests and stallholders. As our events are usually busy they may not be the best place for especially large, anxious or reactive pups.

Great food and drink options

We always make sure there is some element of food and drinks at each one of our markets. Many of the venues we operate in, like Battersea Power Station, have their own restaurants and bars to choose from! Some venues like Gipsy Hill Brewery Taproom, you’ll find street food trucks and local bakery stalls. For more detailed information check out the info on our blog or our Events page.
